Ashley is a Speech Language Pathologist at the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and the Blind.  She earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees at West Virginia University and is a certified See-the-Sound: Visual Phonics trainer.

Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP)

Cindy Camp has worked in the field of deaf services for more than 25 years.  She holds a Master’s degree in English, is a nationally certified interpreter, certified in mental health interpreting in AL, as well as a C-Print captionist and trainer.  She is Marketing and Communications Specialist for the Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP).

Barbara Raimondo
Barbara Raimondo

Policy Consultant

Barbara Raimondo is a long-time advocate for the rights of deaf and hard of hearing individuals and their families. She has worked as a government relations liaison, director of advocacy, parent consultant, attorney, and trainer. She has presented and written about numerous topics including early hearing detection and intervention, education, test equity, civil rights, family support, deaf- hearing partnerships, parent and deaf community involvement, and others. She and her husband are the parents of two deaf young adults.

Dr. Melanie Ashworth

West Virginia School for the Deaf

Dr. Ashworth has been working with deaf and hard-of-hearing children, their families, and their educators for more than 25 years. She has provided hearing and hearing technology monitoring, counseling, educational training and technical assistance, as well as direct aura (re)habilitation services to WVSDB students, as well as local infants and toddlers and students mainstreamed in local county schools.  Dr. Ashworth maintains national certification through the ASHA, as well WV audiology licensure through the WVBESLPA.

Crystal Miller

Crystal Miller

Department of Rehabilitation Services

Crystal Miller graduated from West Virginia University in 2005 with a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and participated in a six week Orientation to Deafness Training from the University of Tennessee. She currently has her certification in Rehabilitation Counseling from the Commission on Rehabilitation Counseling. She is an employee of the WV Division of Rehabilitation Services as a Program Specialist for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She has worked for the agency for over twelve years, seven of which have been dedicated to serving individuals who are Deaf or Hearing

Molly Simonton

DHH Teacher 

Molly Simonton is a teacher of the DHH who has worked in a variety of settings with students who are Deaf/hard of hearing for over 25 years. Since moving to WV in 2003, she has been the program coordinator at MU for the DHH teacher certification program, served as an itinerant teacher of the DHH in Roane Co, and worked as a interpreter for SVRS. Prior to moving to WV, she taught middle school Language Arts at the Iowa School for the Deaf. She currently lives north of Charleston, WV with her husband and ten year old twin sons (Eli & Nathaniel), whom they began homeschooling last year. She also has two adult step-children, Tucker & Sarah. She enjoys watching her sons play baseball, scrapbooking, and traveling the US with her family.

Dr. Stephanie Cawthon

National Deaf Center

Dr. Stephanie Cawthon is the Director of the newly launched National Deaf Center on Postsecondary Outcomes and is a faculty member in the College of Education at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Cawthon’s interest is in factors that support or serve as barriers to success for deaf individuals in the areas of academic achievement, employment and quality of life.

Ruby Losh

Fairmont State University/Sorenson 

Ruby Losh is American Sign Language/Interpreter Education Program coordinator at the Pierpont Community & Technical College in Fairmont, West Virginia. She teaches ASL/IEP since 2002. She graduated from the West Virginia School for the Deaf in 1994. She got her Bachelor Degree from Fairmont State University in 2000. She gave couple presentations related to American Sign Language and Deaf Advocate. She is married to her high school sweetheart Michael. They have two children who currently attend the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf in Pittsburgh, PA.
